Suggestions for me to get into the CRPG scene? |
|
I'm relatively new to crpgs. I played through NWN, and dozens of hours of Morrowind.
What i'm looking for is your suggestions for what you think are the best crpgs that have multiplayer support. I really liked playing NWN cooperatively with some friends.
Is gothic multiplayer? Will gothic II be?
Thanks. |

I don't play multiplayer, so I can't give you direct answers. You might want to add some other games you like, though. If you are coming from first-person-shooters, then Diablo2 might be a good choice. If you're coming from stategy, other games would be more appropriate. Also, are you interested in a massively multiplayer online (MMORPG) that generally requires a monthly subscription, or just a game that allows multiplayer. Finally, are you looking for cooperative or competitive multiplayer?
With some more details, I think the group here will be able to give you some good choices.
Oh, the Gothics are single player only. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Hm. I found the Diablo series to be quite tedious. I'm not really interested in MMORPG, something more like neverwinter offers, so i can just hook up with my friend(s) and depart on a quest cooperatively.
I love morrowind, but neverwinter's multiplayer aspect is really what i'm interested in. |

I hear Dungeon Siege has multiplayer. Of course, I also hear that it's tedious.
Baldur's Gate 2 has multiplayer but it's really a single-player focused game. Icewind Dale is in the same vein. Multiplayer is more of an afterthought. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Good multiplayer is quite rare in rpg's.
I have a suggetion, you might think it's really stupid bacause it's a freeware game but I really enjoyed it. go to:

It's called Well of souls. The graphics are a load of crap but the music IMO is the best music ever in an RPG. It has single and multiplayer support and you can download more "worlds". I would recommend downloading the Aerianel world because it's a lot better than the original world. |

NWN multiplayer support is really quite unique. One of the reasons NWN was so hyped before it's release was because it's the first time an RPG developer (not MMORPG) has built multiplayer in as the major, central feature rather than just tacked on at the end.
Have you played any user-modules for NWN? Many of the Hall of Fame or Top Rated modules here are better than the official SP. |

You might enjoy Deus Ex, and/or the Jedi Knight games. I'm not a multi-player person either for the most part. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!
