http://pc.ign.com/reviews/14349.html

Is scores the game a 8.6 out of 10. Pretty good!

But there's two things said in the review, I do not understand!

very expressive facial expressions: I have never seen the characters in the game change expressions or show emotions when I speak to them. The only thing they do, is move there mouth!

A long informative manual: My manual is rather thin and is altually a little lacking if you ask me. Is there different manuals to the game?

You're right, but if you look at other games, mostly the characters just mover their head alittle, with no animated mouth. And i never read a manual,it's more fun to find out stuff in the middle of the game when u need it.

I see eyebrows moving, and eyeballs blinking
which is more than you see in other 3Ders

As for the manual, yea, I never read em and when I do Im usually about halfways through the game and its late at night (too late to start another quest but not late enough to go to bed)
61% of the people who voted never even played the game (sad)
And she said the graphics were 'decent' (WHAT?!)
for a rpg of this depth I thought the graphics were phenomenal

I don't always trust ign.com

sometimes they are really assholes..they rated Hitman for pc very bad..while i thought it was one damn fine game...

they say gothic is great, what they should really say is..it's unbelieveable so many posibilities...joining camps...etc...
they mildly say the game has replayability..man fuck you ....this game has alot of replay value...what i really hate is the games like baldurs gate and alot of known rpg games always score super high...the total rating of gothic was a damn crappy 7 while it has to be a 10 in my book...

THats how PB assumed there was hundreds of hours of gameplay. While it may take 20 hours or less to finish the game, it takes hundreds of collective hours to actually thoroughly explore all the storyline paths.

I'm sick of game reviews. I only listen to real poeple's opinions and demos to determine the best fit for a game.

All the comments here hit right on the mark:
As I've never played a Truly perfect rpg, I wouldnt know one when if I saw it but Gothic is BY FAR, the closest I've ever seen one get and its gets a 9.8 in my book.
Replayability: 10 easy
Except for Ultima IX, there has never been a rpg I would play over again, due to the monotony...Gothic I've replayed from start to finish 3times now and going on my 4th as a straight up archer/mage.
The only thing I could see someone complaining about would be the controls. There is a bit of a learning curve, but once you get into the rhythm, its cake
