I've met Alia. I'm looking for the shield for her. According to the walkthrough Carlo is now supposed to give me a key. But he isn't around. He's not with the King. Where else does he hang out?

I found him right outside the blacksmith's shop. That was when I still had no patches though. Do you have any patches? I just got the newest one recently near the end of my last game and I had to start over, so I'm not at that part yet.

Yes, I have the latest patch. I just installed it a week or so ago, but I didn't have to start over. However, at that time I wasn't that far into the game. Maybe you have to start over past a certain point.
The patch sure helped curb this guys appetite. How did you go through a whole game feeding our hero every other move? I'm sure he'll be much healthier now that he's on a diet:)

Depending on where you are in the game, you have three places you can check besides the guards room. I found him actually hiding on the wall that goes around the church. I also found him in the castle talking to the King. and later in the game he is locked in the jail. You should be able to find him if you have completed everything you needed to up to this point. I always played with the current patch, so that should not be an issue. Hope you find him soon. Good luck!
