What great house should I join?

I'm playing a combat heavy character. He has some other skills like Alchemey, Enchant and Mysticism, but he's a fighter first.

Regarding this character, what house should he join you think?
I don't know much about them just yet, but I think that House Redoran is best suited for fighters and the like.
Is this correct or should I consider the other houses too?

Thanks.

I say go with that house. Telvanni is for mages.. and im not happy with them.. although i like their motto.. "if you kill a House Telvanni member over a matter of money or property blah blah... it means you were in the right" heh.. so basically.. might makes right.

Go with Redoran.

Thank you for the reply Sandtiger.
I'll ask around about the houses next time I have a chance to play the game.
People will probably have some info on them.

Btw, why are you not happy with the Telvanni house? They don't offer good quests/services or something?

The favoured skills in each House are as follows:-

Hlaalu: speechcraft, shortblade, mercantile, light armour, marksman, security.

Redoran: athletics, heavy armour, spear, medium armour, long blade, armorer.

Telvanni: mysticism, alteration, conjuration, destruction, illusion, enchant.

Hope that gives a little bit of a pointer

So what if your character is based around a Samauri/Enchanter/Thief? Basically all sneak skills with long swords and enchantment thrown in as the two most primary skills?

Dark Elf
major: Long blade/enchant/light armor/acrobatics/security
minor: sneak/athletics/mercantile/speechcraft/marksmanship

currently level 34

guilded to mage and fighter

Your Long Blade skill is probably very high, so go with Redoran. You'll just need to get your Armorer skill up over 30 or so.

Argh!

I am a plain mage (with little or no melee/armour) and i have joined Redoran House cause i didnt like either of the other houses. Telavani creeped me out while Haalu seem to have a backbone of jelly where empires domination of the province was concened.

But it seems that i am gonna have trouble advancing in the guild with out high str and end plus some armour or weapon skill

Okay, dumb question: How specifically do our skills relate to our success in the Houses?

I was interested in Redoran for their moral stance.

However, as a magic-centered character I thought I should probably go into Televani.

BUT-- it appears all of my skills match best with Hlaalu.

SO -- what's the deal? How do the skills relate to our success in a house?

Thanks!

Your skills actually determine how far you can advance in rank. House Redoran might reguire 40 in one their martial preferred skills and 20 in two others for you to become a lawman for example.

So you can advance to a certain point but then you'll find yourself using skills not suited to your role. I would suggest you join the mages guild maybe? (especially if the Tel don't suit you). Remember you can always play another game with another char anytime.

trainers

this may be a stupid question but ive looked all over and cant find any telvanni trainers. Anyone in the house know where they are? or are we just supposed to go to the mages guild for training?

Admittedly I've only joined Telivanni, but what I've seen of it (a little creepy at first), seems to be the more fun house (and very rewarding).

It also had the most funny quest I've had in the game so far (that's not saying much!). I had to deliver a skirt to an aging - 'knocked in the head' telavanni mage. She was paranoid and asked me to put it on first incase it was enchanted. The next second she started attacking me - 'YOU PUT ON MY SKIRT!!'. Telavanni also seems quite open. Plus the buildings look great and orginal. One thing I have noticed is, that to get the highest ranks in the mages guild, you need quite a bit higher stats than for top place in the telivanni house.
