What's the 5 supposed to mean?
Anyway I give Gothic 2 a 9.5 out of 10. _________________ OMG! WTF?! MONKEYS!!!!

I think I'd give it a 9.0. _________________ -=Professional Secret Agent=-

I'd give it an 8.5. It would be higher if the interface was better. You can get used to it, but it does need improvement.

Anyway I give Gothic 2 a 9.5 out of 10.
They use a decimal comma instead of a decimal point in Europe. that would be 8.5.
I give G2 87 out of 100...of course, i am about 87% finishedf with the game _________________ "You two are a regular ol' Three Musketeers."

I'd give a 9,5
Though I consider both Gothic parts to be some of the best games ever, they aren't perfect (very close, but they ain't) and therefore won't earn a 10... _________________ "With sword in hand I now stand on my enemies' land." - Immortal: Beyond The North Waves
Since I've never faced the English version of Gothic or Gothic II, I want to apologize for bumpy translations... |

Graphics: 8
They're pretty good. There's a decent variety, and the textures arn't too bad.
Story: 10
There's no question; Gothic games have always had a great story
Gameplay: ?
I can't really comment on this yet, as I havn't gotten too far. I do really like the flexibility, but it seems to turn into nothing but a Save/load fest, which can be frustrating. I'll give it this though, it's frighteningly addictive.
Engine: 2
The gaming engine itself, while nicely flexible, needs a LOT of work and optimization. There have been too many performance problems. I can BARELY get playable frames with a decent system (AXP 1900+, 512MB, R9500pro) Since the FPS doesn't change with texture quality/resolution, they probably need to spend more time optimizing the behind the scenes stuff
Controls: 8
The controls aren't too bad, and a definite improvement over Gothic I. They still take some getting used to, especially comming from Gothic I. They seem a little unresponsive, but that could be due to the game engine.
Overall: 7
While the game itself is one of the most flexible RPG's I've ever played, it is brought down a lot due to the poor performance of the gaming engine. The character could also be a little stronger at lower levels, as the constant saving/loading due to getting beaten down by a half-dead lepper gets pretty frustrating. |

Saying that this game is perfect is bullshit.
The voice acting is ranging from slightly above average to downright horrible, the combat system is poorly done, and the plot is predictable.
Besides, I could hardly bring myself to complete the last 2 chapters, simply because there was nothing that really motivated me to go on. I had reached level 30, and everything was too easy. I continued because I wanted to see the ending, but I gave up after running back and forth on that island for half an hour.
I'd give it a 6.5, or so. _________________ Please, just shut up |
