In case you've never tried it, it's a really nice spell when you're going up against something big and nasty that likes to charge you. It stops one target dead AND causes it to sponaneously combust at a very reasonable mana cost.

With one little problem. Perhaps someone more familiar with the mechanics of Gothic would like to clear this up, but what kind of damage does the spell do? Because Orc Warriors (for example) seem to be quite impervious to it, but they burn just fine when I throw a Storm of Fire. What gives? Both spells should inflict fire damage, yet one works and another doesn't.

Or does Gothic handle spell resistance on a per-spell basis? Now that would suck.

Well, I think the Sect camps "spells" are actually supposed to be like Psionic type things.

I think Orcs have 20 points of fire resistance or something. Since Pyro does 20 per second, they're immune. Storm is chargeable, and blows through that 20 nicely.

I loved that spell just for flaming guards and such. Fun to watch them dance.
