overheard conversations...
   

Okay, so the action4 review (or whatever it was) mentioned that in the game you could overhear others conversations. I think this is the second or third review I've read that mentions that in connection with it being important to gameplay.

Now I realize that it adds to the ambience, but has anybody ever overheard something that was actually relevant to the gameplay? Like perhaps overhearing Lefty say to a thug, "if that creep doesn't come to work tomorrow, I'll kick his ass."

I've only played through the game 1 1/2 times, so I'm still finding new stuff (just watched scavengers lie down to sleep for the first time yesterday), but so far, the overheard info has been useless.

Yea, the conversaions were tottaly worthless. Unlike Deus Ex you cant learn anything very valuble from evesdropping on people in Gothic.

But hearing people talk to others adds allot to the admosphere of the game
