Contact the Mines

Ok, I'm in need of REAL help now, this will probobly be my last help message, well, anyways... I used a speed potion to get to the Old Mine, and I talked to Grimes, and he said talk to that one dude, so I talked to him, and I talked to the dude who sits in the castles' throne (I forgot his name, the commander guy), I used a speed potion in the process of this, and umm.. that's the only way I can get back out without being killed by orcs to get to the other two mines... the ones by Xardas' old tower... any help?

Well the best thing to do is just to use the speed potion or change into some sort of creature for example a scavenger

You don't need speed potions. When you leave by the ram, run straight to the river. The orcs will leave off after a bit. turn right and follow the river past the snappers. You can kill them (the snappers) at that time. Follow the path where Pacho used to sit. There are no orcs that way. Follow the lower path up and to the left, it turns right a bit and down again. You shouldn't meet anything worse than snappers. That should bring you to Fajeth's mine. When you are done with Fajeth, go back up and pass to the left of the watchtower, go across to the next wall, follow left to find Diego's hideout, he will tell you about Sylvestro's ore without having to go to his mining site. When you leave Diego, follow the wall again, keeping it to your left, it will bring you back to where you came in. Back up the ram, and report. Good luck. Sorry no maps.

I think you can always sneak past the orcs, without using any potion, scroll, or rune. besides, don't you run faster than them anyway? If you want to get the orcs away, use the siege ram trick: you can shoot them from the orc siege ram, and they won't chase you
