the snake woman from the castle is suposed to have given me a book for greu the troll, but she hasn't. does anyone know why?
and how do i start the treasure hunt? cause the chests in tha cave where i'm suposed to are locked.

might i suggest that you go to the gothicdot website (look up to hosted sites on main rpgdot page) and view / download the Arx Fatalis Walkthrough! it has really helped me, will probably help you too! |

You need to go to the Troll's kingdom and in one of the furthers caves, which used to be Greu's room (you'll recognise it by presence of Greu's art), there is his troll friend. If you double click him, he'll start a conversation through which you'll learn that Greu has never seen (pictures of) outside world (this part is actually missing in the walkthrough). Then go to the Snake woman and she will give you the book that Greu will accept as a present. Enjoy your new friend, XP and the throll amulet

Did you double click on the emarald and then click it on the correct chest???It should just slip in...

Even if you have killed all the trolls you can keep playing...I am...try selling the now useless troll amulets and troll idol...Chiklashh never would give me the book for Greu...the XP would have been nice and I could still kill her for it but then I'd have to take on all of Arx...some players have done just that.. enjoy...

Well you need to have heard about the book to get it from Chinkash and to do that you need to find Greu's firend (in the troll camp). Which I take you didn't do. |

the same thing happened to me.
i tryed to jump past one of the trolls on the bridge and had to kill them all.
now i am trying to find moe side quests to get pickpocketing to steal the book from the snake-bitch.
any suggestions?

sunshine, I tried to steal the book from the snake-woman, and I think it is not possible w/o failing (and humans turning against you), because when she is in the library she is ALWAYS facing you. If you pickpocket the book, she will notice that.
I spent a lot of time trying to disappear from her view (stealth, invisibility portions) but she was like a compass looking at me. If you find a way, please share

i allready finished the game, i only asked just to know how. as a matter a fact i actualy killed all the snakewomen (exept the one from the castle), before the council reunion and i still finished the game quite nicely

I have tried to pickpocket Chiklashh also ...it's true she never takes her eyes off you...and seems able to see you when you're invisable...but somewhere on the forums... I think I read that if you kill anyone when no one can see you do it...including them...example: an arrow from another room...then the others on that level don't know who caused the death and they don't come after you...I haven't tried it yet...but it might be a way to get the book from Chiklashh without alerting everyone in Arx to kill you...

I've succedded in pickpocketing Chicklashh...I can't believe it's so easy...just use the confuse spell...it works like a charm on even multiple targets...you don't even need to be careful to do it...Happy thieving...
