GothicDot updates!

JemyM´s quickstart savegame has been replaced by a new one made by Brak. See the article on GothicDot for the details.

An even more advanced version of Brak´s save would be appreciated. If you want to eliminate some more of the boring stuff then please contact me.

I´m considering a 'pic of the day' section on GothicDot. Check page 6 of our pics-thread.

1. Pic of the day!
The daily feature started. Contributions are allways welcome, even more, we want your pics!

If you have interesting screenshots please mail me.

The most comfortable way to make multiple screenshot is the UO Screenshot Utility
http://www.hh.iij4u.or.jp/~kmatuoka/uosu/indexe.html .

For max. quality save as .bmp, manipulate the pic in your graphics software and as last step convert it to .jpg.

Saving with UO SU as .jpg with 40% compression @1024*768*32 should also be okay. Just try it.

2. Mod news!
Just in case you didn´t follow the discussions in the Gothic - General forum some short infos about modding:
-The Mod Kit works with the English version!
-One of our members wrote he works on a translation of the docs.
-A German mod project wants to switch to multilingual development. They are seeking support. This is a great opportunity for a kickstart into modding, because they can help you avoid the mistakes they made.

JemyM´s GothicFAQ 1.2 is online. You can find the .zip in the walkthrough section.

A new pic of the day is also available.

Technical problems
GothicDot still has some technical problems after the server move. You´ll see more updates when they are solved, but I can´t give you an exact date.

JemyM´s FAQ v1.2 is still on the server. To download it, visit the page on GothicDot, rightclick - save as on the old file and increase the number. The page will be updated asap.

The pic of the day will be continued in a few days. Ten pics are still waiting to be published.
Contributions are allways welcome.

Modding
If you know about the Gothic Mod-Kit and would like to write a short article on the basics, please contact me. I´m sure many of our readers would like to know how to get the tools running and what´s possible with which program.

New staff member!
Today Jaz joined our team. She will primarily concentrate on fan related projects, especially fan fiction. So the poor Myrthos can now leave the lands of infinite creativity and go back on his true mission as The Devious Programmer.
Welcome, Jaz.

VisiGothic
Alistair´s mod is now also on our server. You can find the download link in the news.

Fan fiction
Jaz put Val´s latest story "The Escape" online. You can still find the 'older' stories in the Support Files section.

First Modding tutorial!
Alistair´s translation of the Spacer tutorial, one of the four German language tutorials, can be found in the Support Files section on GothicDot.
I´m not sure how useful it is without the other three parts, but it´s 25% of the puzzle and Alistair is working on the other documents.

Have a look at the document to find out what you can do with the Spacer.

The German language docs can be found on Soul of Gothic.

Fan fiction
praj´s first story is online. The link can be found on the front page.

Mod Player-Kit
Some new versions of the Mod Player-Kit have been released. The English version is now officially supported. Or shall we say unofficially unsupported because PB of course won´t provide support for the Mod-Kit?

More infos and three other Newsbits on the front page.

Rumor
Somebody on the WoG boards claims to have fixed the Gorn-freaks-out-at-the-Free-Mine bug. If you happen to have an appropriate savegame and want to test the patch please contact me.
