Battle Mages: Trailer @ Gamer's Hell

Buka Entertainment has released a new trailer (34MB ZIP - 1:54 minutes - Russian commentary) for its RPG/RTS hybrid 'Battlemages' and Gamer's Hell is one of the sites to mirror it.

This video isnt functional. DivX doesnt even play it. Neither does realplayer1.

Works for me. My recommendation: deinstall divx, install ffdshow-alpha. It's an all-purpose directx filter for lots of video formats and it has some spiffy extra features.. Should work with all media players.

And while we're at it, I also recommend Media Player Classic. It's a player that looks like MP 6.4, but has nifty features and plays even DVDs. Simple and effective. Other nice players are Zoom Player or BSPlayer.
But as I said, ffdshow works with any directx capable video player.

Last but not least, if you want nice sound, get Matrix Mixer. It's a sound filter that can extend simple stereo sound to as many speakers as you want. Dolby Surround II, four speakers, five speakers plus subwoofer (5.1), just to name a few.
And if you stumble over AC3 sound, there's AC3 Filter.

Yup. That's all you need. In certain circumstances you need Quicktime unfortunately (movie trailers).
