Yeah, it seems that our char really likes it to write down every unimportant detail... we can be happy that it doesn't have a weight.

I'd be happier if he/she had taken some lessons in how to manage a press or field research journal. Catagories... I guess that's a foreign concept in the Empire. Perhaps punishable by death by the zeal with which our character does their best to NOT make any sort of order out of their notes beyond basic chronological...

i'm at about 160 or 170, i remember being give a FG quest long time back that was supposed to be done i vivec, but that would be like 60 pages ago, and now i'm doing stuff for the imperial, being almost done with them too, so if i would want to come back to the FG quest i'm gonna have like 30 mins worth of searching, plus i can't use the topics feature since i don't remember any name or place this quest considered :O it's gonna be a pain...

I actually write all quests down on paper with at least one keyword so I can find it easily. I also check off the completed ones. Sure the game is supposed to do this for me and do it well, but I'm rather enjoying hearkening back to the old days when I wrote down everything in my own 'play journal'.

Journal

I also keep my own journal. I write down who initiates a quest and where they are. Then I write where I am suppose to go and who I am suppose to see. Lastly I write down what I am suppose to do. Like the previous post, it is easy to check off your completed ones. It would have been nice if the journal would have deleted the quests that were completed like Baldur's Gate. I can understand not deleting the quest if it will come into play later in the game but with the current size of the journal it isn't really practical.

an ideal solution would be for the journal to have a section with completed quests and for quest pending like in gothic

Yes, That would help alot. And then they could categorize it by geographical location so that when I am in a certain area I can do all the stuff I need to.
