Some might even go to warez just to stick it up JoWood.

Actually, for me at least, the longer I wait, the greater my interest in the game ...But thats just me

Rules are simple, and no exeptions allowed in piracy thing

I read some serious warez copying of the original Gothic 2 of the German version. I do know that they do NOT want that to happen to the English international release.

They lost alot of money to piracy. They are/were working on a new type of security system never before really done. It could cause delay.

Just a guess; the new security on the CD did NOT work and they are trying to come up with a fix? Maybe they just want to release the game and not be in competition with other big title releases that are coming out now to April. Just a very good educated guess.

Please buy the game to support further releases, warez really is bad for business and can ruin any further games for Gothic series.

JoWooD is in busines for money, do not blame them so much, because:

You can thank all them piracy groups for the delay.

That may be a reason for the delay of Gothic 2 but there are also half a dozen other possible reasons for its delay (mainly Jowood being gay)
I am going to buy the game but i was hoping to have it before i take my A-Level examinations, but now it looks like due to the delays i can either,

1. Buy gothic 2 in may and fail the most important part of my life so far
2. Wait till after the exams, probably around July time and play Gothic 2 (if its out by July)

Its not just my gaming life that has been affected by these delays. I haven't slept since 29th November 2002, and i won take my eyes of the pc screen until i have gothic 2

Hehe

You already have gothic 2 gorath, you must understand how frustrating it is when the game you have been waiting ages for gets delayed because of a crappy publishing company, and not because the developer is adding anything to the game

I hope it comes out in april , i feel this will go on forever just f***Ing release it i feel like going down to jowood's office and yell at them and say RELEASE GOTHIC 2 NOW WE WAITED LONG ENOUGH , FININCIAL PROBLEMS? ILL GIVE YOU FINANICAL PROBLEMS ok just had to let that out

I cant wait to see the words *gothic 2 english gone gold* but it feels this will take forever , i hope it comes out next month i seriously cant wait any longer although we cant do anything , dont the morons at jowood care what there doing to us? guess not.

Also , every game looses millions of dollars on games , wich is sad because some of them are very good games and deserve the $ , specially gothic 2 but like i said they cant do anything about it getting pirated just like the first one and probably for making alot of ppl now they will just download it lol.

Grrr i cant wait any longer , i wanna start chopping ppl up with a big axe , and punching wolves faces in with your fist and looking at ugly lester's face lol.

No matter how good the piracy protection is, someone will still crack the game, so why are Jowood delaying the inevitable? Just release it before i release one of Saddams nukes on your asses jowood.

Jowood take it up the batty, thats all they ever wanna do

Just a bit. I was not waiting for the German release. A delay would have left me cold.
JoWooD publishes games to make money. For whatever reason they think it´s more profitable for them to release G2 later. There´s nothing personal here. All negative emotions are a waste of energy.

The new copy protection worked very well. I´m not even sure there is a working noCD patch now. It takes some time to find it out. Without the CD you can´t enter the old world.
JoWooD hired a former cracker who studied IT. It´s his job to implement the customizations into Sony´s SecuROM system.

Wings´ tactical online shooter 'Söldner - Secret Wars' will use an even more advanced version. Wings will offer new weapons and vehicles every week. Every update will include a new .exe with a new copy protection.

There's working No-CD cracks up to v1.29 in German; however, the biggest and best cracking groups are English-only, so I don't doubt that the English release will be cracked much more quickly. SecuROM has generic unlockers released already, and so does every other major copy protection scheme. And tools like Blindread, CloneCD, and especially Alcohol 120% can read nearly every CD, even those with 'intentionally damaged' sectors, and emulate the CD perfectly. Saying you have a tough copy protection scheme just encourages crackers further, and every scheme except online CD keys verified against a database of issued keys has been cracked quickly and effectively. It's really a waste of money...those who download the warez version will get the crack tossed in, and those who legitimately purchased it will have a harder time with copy protection methods that may not work on all CD/DVD drives and may make their legal game unplayable.

And who wants to download a new patch per week, or have to reinstall for whatever reason and catch up on months worth of patches? There goes their dialup/low-end broadband audience.

I did not want to mention that fact; since it may encourage people to download the 1.29 German version warez that IS for real floating around out there. I seen it for my self. Then use the English text Mod patch to understand it.

I do believe hackers did, I know it has been cracked as the poster stated.

I would hurry up and get that English version out, I hope the new Sony SecurRom works better with th English version. I see it has gone gold; should be out by April 17 here is USA I would think.
