I feel that English is the best language for everything I consider "fantasy".

Books, movies, games and so on - I can't stand it in Norwegian, or any other other language, except English..

Of course English.
..My own language is too funny to the serious feelings.

It's a game made by German developers, so my vote goes to German. By the way, the voice-acting in the German language version of Gothic I was a lot better than in the English language version.

The original language is always better than a translation.

Where did you get that from, Gorath said it plain and simple: "The original language is always better than a translation."...you do know that Gothic is developed by a german team in german before its translated to english, right?

I obviously agree, the original language is always the best, unfortunatly my german is to poor to play that version, but if my german was as good as my english, i would definatly play the german version.

I know, but I think German sounds so funny, I I don't understand a word of it, so my vote goes for English.

I missread your first post, I read "it's own version" and not "it's one version". Obviously very different meanings

If you read the sentence as I did Im sure you can see why I was confused about your question, since noone mentioned anything about every country having its own version

Anyway, enough of that, no, I dont call myself Gorath , but Im pretty sure I can still answer for him in this case. Noone wants one version for every country, Gorath and some others are just stating that the original langauge is the best since some things are always lost in the translation. Obviously the translation to english still needs to be done since german isnt a super common language.

"The original language is always better than a translation."...

No, it's not.. reading fantasy in Norwegian and in German is not as great as reading it in English; the vucabulary of Norwegian and German is 1/3 of the English due to the fact that English is a mixture of languages(German, French and so on). There are words in English which can only be described with sentences in Norwegian and German, so I still feel English is the #1 language for litterature like fantasy(a lot of the words within the fantasy genre cannot be translated properly).

The same goes for the games I place in the "fantasy" genre of games, like HoMM, MM and Gothic..

At least I feel the English vucabulary is more appropriate than Norwegian and German to write/read fantasy litterature..
