NWN 2: Forum Highlights @ NW Vault

A number of Obsidian developers have been active on the NWN2 boards today and NW Vault's summary has interesting snippets on tileset conversions, the development time and California labour laws. Here's one clip from Jason Keeney:
Possible ways for Tileset Conversion from NWN to NWN2
The terrain/environment system we have in place for NWN2 is so wildly different that what existed in NWN1 that there is basically zero hope of being able to re-use any kind of tilset or module data. With the amount of effort it would take to make NWN2 backwards compatible in this regard we could be halfway done with NWN3...

Tony Evans replied to my question under what exemption of Overtime in California (I posted the complete portion of the law concerning exempt employees in the State. Obsidian operates out of San Diego.) was he qualified under by saying its a grey area and that small developers wouldn't be able to survive if the rules were strictly enforced.

I responded (and qualified myself by saying I wasn't trying to be rude when I meant I wasn't trying to be difficult) that companies that would do that are still obligated to pay the overtime nad if they don't they are playing a dangerous game with potential future lawsuits from employees.

Rhoman, the NWN2 forum moderator, said the thread has gotten way off topic and locked it before Tony could respond.

I've since reposted the relevant posts to this in the off topic forums where it will probably fade out in obscurity and no other website will pick up on it as relevant news.
