Why is this weapon required to complete the game ? All stone golems can be killed with macees or normal hammers (god's hammer, war hammer) ? Well, I'm not 100% sure I used war hammer on quest golem (it was 2 days ago ), but I'm sure I used mace on bridge's golem.

The great thing about the orc hammer is this.
You can get it VERY early in the game. It will be the most powerful weapon in your inventory for a very long time.
In addition to the Orc Hammer having 50 damage, it only takes a mere 20 strength to use. This allows you to spend your skill points elsewhere. Like magic or bows/crossbows. Or Master 1h.
Sure any hammer can hurt the stone golem. But early in the game do I want a 20 damage sword? Or a 50 damage hammer?

sure 50 damage early is nice. but it's not required quest item to complete the game, if I don't miss something.

Did anyone else just lure the bridge golem off the bridge and run past him?

I did at first. He moves pretty slowly.

Actually, I did it first time. Lester killed him later with his mace, what surprised me that time (I had scar's sword and could do nothing to this golem ). Then I bought mace and killed golem with few slains

Actually, I wailed on the stone golem at the bridge with a sword, and I was pretty much toast, so I took off running . . .straight into the awaiting teeth of a bloodhound. Luckily, the golem attacked the bloodhound leaving me in the clear. When I finished with the fortress, the golem was still across the bridge, staring at the corpse of the bloodhound. It was hilarious.

Summoned golems tend to be rough on Templars , which is also very nice.
