Gothic Mod Player -- English instructions! |
|
I am interested in playing the English language mod called Visigoth. I've downloaded the mod player package from this site. However, the readme file is in German. I don't know German.
Can somebody please post in English the instructions for installation/use of the mod player and for the mod Visigoth.
Thanks!

P.S. -- Will original save games still work after installing a mod? I don't want to wipe them out. |

1. Make sure you have the right version of the kit for your version of Gothic, either 1.08h or 1.08k. You probably need 1.08k for the English language version.
2. Unzip the thing into your Piranha Bytes\Gothic folder. You should end up with files called GothicStarter.exe, GothicGame.ini, and GothicMod.exe in your Gothic\System folder, plus a few others here and there.
3. Once you've done this, you start a mod (or Gothic itself) by starting up GothicStarter.exe, choosing the mod or game from the list on the left, and pressing Start Gothic.
Installation instructions for a mod should come with the mod itself. Basically, you just have to unzip it to the right folder.
Hope this helps,
A.
PS: I think save games are fine, but can't quite remember. I think a separate save folder is automatically created for each mod, and you get the appropriate saves as long as you start the game with GothicStarter. |
