Going to start a new game with Bloodmoon.... need advice |
|
I havent played Morrowind since last Christmas. At the time I only had a Athlon 2000+ and Radeon 8500 so it was choppy as can be. Now that I have since used my tax refund for a new system (P4 3.0C Radeon 9700 Pro, 1 gig memory) I figure it should be fun and FLUID I havent kept up with the mod community so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Only one I am sure I will use so far is the Marksman mod since I plan to play a Woodelf "Ranger" character. My only requirements are good compatibility and no "Super Power" mods that destroy game balance and/or make it too easy. Any info (with links to find it) would be greatly appreciated. |

You might have better luck checking the plugin forum for an answer, although your question isn't out of place where it is (IMO)

Well, get the Optimizer anywa, to increase view distancer this time.
Giants 2.0 is a great plugin, and so are the Adventurer's Plugin.
The best house plug-in around is the 'a good place to stay' plugin. _________________ (-[ApoK Forever]-) |

Morrowind FPS Optimizer (Alexander Stasenko) is nice, especially if you have a high-end Radeon card, which is capable of enabling the TRUFORM™ II technology. By turning on N-PATCH through the optimizer, you will notice a significant improvement in visual quality. You can view some screenshots of Morrowind with N-PATCH here.
As FlipMoeJack says, you may want to try out some "must-have" mods such as GIANTS (Puma Man), Wilderness (Puma Man), Children of the Night (John Barbosa), Adventurer Mod (adam1) and Moon's Spawn (Caladan Brood). All of these mods can be downloaded at Morrowind Summit orEuro-Morrowind.
Don't forget to download the official plugins. None of which hurts gameplay balance significantly.
Gary T. Noonan, an artist at Bethesda Softworks, also developed a few addons for Morrowind such as Morrowind Advanced (WormGod) and Imperial Proving Grounds (WormGod). You may want to check them out.
If you don't mind having the alchemy system modified, you may want Homeopathic Alchemy Mod (Srikandi), which generally enrich the entire alchemy system.
You may want to download the readable roadsign mods if you don't like Morrowind having roadsigns written in a foreign language. Some of these mods are Real Signposts (El Bundee), Weathered Signposts (Voltayre), Textured Signs (Franzhauer) and Textured Signs Neutral (Franzhauer).
Both Tavern Ambience (Bernard Langham) and MW Sound Enhancement v1.5 (pancreas) add tons of sound effects in the game. You may download them at Morrowind Summit.
Most of the mods I've mentioned don't really affect the gameplay much. Some of which in fact increase the difficulty of the game. Hope that helps. |
