Computer Games Online has conducted an interview with Troika's Leonard Boyarsky about the demise of his company.
Leonard Boyarsky talks to Computer Games Magazine about the closing of their game development company Troika.

Along with Jason Anderson and Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky formed Troika Games in 1998 after leaving Interplay, where they helped to create the first two games in the classic Fallout RPG series. In the developer's lifetime they created three games, including 2004's acclaimed first person RPG Vampire The Masquarade: Bloodlines. However, the sales for the game were dissapointing and this week Boyarsky announced to Fallout fan site No Mutants Allowed that the developer was closing its doors. Computer Games Magazine got a chance to ask Boyarsky some questions about the shut down of Troika Games.
|

Well they didn't ask the HARD questions.
"How did you expect to be able to continue to operate a successful software development business when all of your games were rife with bugs?"
"Exactly what kind of Quality Control did you have in place at Troika?"
Stuff like that. Important stuff. _________________ Visit Knight Games! |

I see. What about Obsidian (KOTOR 2 is a flawless game)?
What about Bethesda (Morrowind was also flawless, without the slightest bug, it never crashed).
What about Bioware (yep, NWN didn't have any bugs either...)?
I'm sick and tired of idiots like you. Did you even play the games, or are you saying that just because it seems to be cool nowadays to kick Troika?
I didn't have the slightest problem playing Arcanum, even without any patch. Vampire had a couple of bugs, one of them major, but after the patch the game plays great. And for the record, it is a great game.
I can't say the same thing about KOTOR2, which currently is unplayable for lots of people. Not to mention the soundtrack on the PC version has of such crappy low quality for a moment I thought I was playing a warez release, but no, I really paid 40 euros for it...
Pretty much every game in the market has bugs. RPG's, because they're more complex than most other genres are more likely to have bugs.
What I don't understand is people who complain about games from one company being buggy, and don't say the same think about some other companies whose releases are as bad or worse than Troika's. |
