Stuff I would like to see in future Gothic games.

One relatively minor enhancement I'd like to see in ALL RPGs (not to mention most games) is a a means of telling time bot within the game world AND the REAL WORLD. Game World time should be as easy as just having a clock somewhere available on a screen (in G2 you had to go and stay in Marvin Mode to toggle clock). Keeping track of Real World time shouldn't be hard to do either and it would be a convience for all of us who forget to eat, pee, sleep, etc. cause we don't have a clock nearby.

I also like to be able to have some sense of direction without loading in a map, but if I have to do that then the map should be annotateable; likewise the journal.

I think the Hero should be able to sleep with a bedroll outside the city with the chance of random encounters. NPCs do it.

There should be refinement of inventory.

I always find it odd that an NPC salesperson might be far away from his/her stand and still have their entire inventory available, but if you kill them all they have is an apple and some gin.
