RPGDot Feature: A Look at The Witcher

If you've overlooked The Witcher as just another action-RPG, it's time to take another look. Read our preview to find out why this RPG has us so excited. Here's a snip:
This level of realism extends beyond the art to the gameworld itself. People will behave realistically, going about their daily business and coming and going according to the time of the day - in fact, time is an important factor in The Witcher. In the demo we saw, washer-women cleaning clothes down by the river in the morning made way for bandits and thieves roaming the city streets at nights. While this passing of time establishes an authenticity and level of immersion in the world, it also has a direct impact on the player.
Read it all here and watch out for our in-depth interview with CD Projekt tomorrow!

this preview seems to be based on the E3 demo. All features and facts here mentioned are the _same_ on the shakycam E3 video posted months ago... They didn't updated the demo....

This game looks like it's going to be terrific. I hope that it delivers on all of its promises. 2006 looks like it's shaping up to be a legendary year for PC RPG's. Let's hope that it pans out.

There's a little bit on skills in the upcoming interview but it's fairly general. I know there's at least one speech 'Attribute' - Bargain - so hopefully there are more. The demos they have given used rough, unpolished translations so they didn't want to show the dialogue at this point.
