how does spell absorption work?

1) Do you absorb an amount based on mana cost of the spell or magnitude?

2) Can you absorb your own spells if you damage yourself?

3) If you make a ring of constant effect fortify magicka, do you get mana every time you re equip it?

Oh, and what was the magicka level cap again? 300? I was just wondering whether or not it was worth making all my items constant effect intelligence boosters

1. Don't know, but I believe its cost.
2. No, I don't think so.
3. No, of course not.

Yes, the cap is 300. and it probably IS worth it, Mr. Hotshot enchanter.

So, if I use up the 20 mana that a constant effect ring gives me, then that's it? It seems kind of weird. I noticed that fortify magicka doesn't increase your maximum magicka but allows your current reserve to go beyond maximum, so a constant effect ring wouldn't be worth it at all... Have you actually tried it yourself, Lawnmower?
