I agree.
Plus, Gothic has a sheer ... I don't know, I guess the best way to describe it is 'wonderment' that most games couldn't possess. Diablo fails from the getgo with its bad angle. If you want a really immersive World, your player shouldn't be alike a Chesspiece.
It also fails by having wooden characters and actual people in it (most actual people suck at acting). Gothic has people who actually look like people (not just thrown together boring skins) and it has people who seem like people too.
There's a massive sense of freedom and immersiveness in Gothic that I haven't experienced since Ultima VII (even though that was more of a top-down game). Gothic takes what Ultima VII was and enhances it. If Gothic had been about twice the size it is, it would've been the best game that ever was with ease.
If you see it, you can do it. There are secret areas. Places and views that will amaze (the waterfall near the Sect camp is frankly breathtaking for a game the first time you see it). To compare it with Diablo is a crime. Diablo is the modern-day version of Golden Axe. Gothic is the modern-day version of Ultima VII and if the German team behind it can make number two better and if it gets translated by the same wonderful team that did the original ... then it's going to wipe the floor with everything else. Including Morrowind probably.
After all, Elder Scrolls games were always big but they always had a complete lack of character, something Ultima VII and Gothic (two of my favourite games) have in abandance. |

(sigh) you're obviously confused. all blizzard games come with battle.net. is a multiplayer thing. see ya go on, and first there's a chat room place, then you join a game, and either play through the game or kill people. never heard of it?
