I finally beat Gothic, to think the first day I almost returned it... A few comments...
1) This game had excellent graphics and sounds, cool special effects also.
2)The storyline was great, and I was completely addicted to this game.
3) Controls were pretty iffy. Strafing and moving while fighting was a pain, also my guy wouldn't do the combo moves while fighting, he could get to the first swing where the sword is behind your back, but it never went or the enemy hit me before I could spin. It worked when I wasn't fighting anybody...
4) Compatability was an issue. This doesn't support 5.1 or 7.1 speakers, it also has trouble with various video cards and eats ram for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, possibly for a midnight snack also 
5) The ending SUCKED. Since Gothic 2 is in development I'm not worried!
It's an overall great game, and I can't wait for Gothic 2 to come out.

yeagh the ending sucked but congrats on beeting the game.

Good job on beating the game 
Yeh, the ending was a bit... empty. I really wanted to see what happened to my good pal Milten after that incident with the water mages, although further investigation found him in the ore mound chamber with the old URIZIEL equipped (?!)
