Since I solved gothic I have solved several games...

But none can compare to Gothic... They simply cant "suck me in" like Gothic could...

When I played Gothic, I forgot the world around me... i lived for gothic =o)

Now its over...

Oh, I missed it so...

Best Regards
JemyM

Well, you what to do next then, don't you? Start learning the mod tool and create some mods for us all to worship Because you aren't the only one out there that can't get enough of Gothic.

Yeah, now that I beat Gothic, I am pretty depressed. I try to recover by posting crazy screenshots, and trying to spread the word of this great game to the other forums I go to.

Now I'm betatesting the European DAoC! And it's the first game since Gothic that Sucked me in again in its great beautiful world, full of quests, combat and magic! So DAoC is ordered (US-version).

Info for other players:

Level 8 Warrior in Midgard (for the moment Fort Atla in Gotar) on the excalibur-server under the name Bourric! So you can send me the message: send Bourric hello!

ahhh, to be able to enjoy games that much..

Unfortunately, I'm currently working/going to school full time, so that doesn't leave me too much time for recreation..

Spent the rest of the eevning with Space Quest V...
Better than Police Quest 1 se at least...

Ill check Blade of Darkness out. The plan is as following:
Space Quest V (finish tomorrow)
Police Quest 1 se (finish tomorrow)
Alone in the Dark as Alane (the woman)
Monkey Island 4...

Then its either Wizardry 8 or Pool of Radiance II... Booth wrings my stomach

Jemy~

I've heard good things about Wiz8..let us know if you tackle it and what you think about it..

I'm pretty much into those hard core RPG's.. improving stats, armor, weapons, etc. That one is party based, and all 1st person..I played and enjoyed the demo, but didn't have the time/money to spend on the game..

Besides, I have to finish Gothic first!

I have played Wizardry 8 already, and dropped it for other games...

Reason? Gothic spoiled me... Wizardry feels like Diablo in comparision (storywise and characterinteractionwise).

The major fault of Wizardry 8 is the spawning monsters, and the endless battles...

Since a battle takes 5-20 minutes you get VERY tired when you encounter the same bunch of 25 ants the third time, just becouse you forgot something on the way, and had to go back a bit (and thus passing the same area thrice).

And I guess I am to spoiled to satisfy myself with enemies that spawns up in places where they does not belong, with allies that arent from the same species...

I see Crabs and Plants co-operating in combats IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT... Ok, it could be desert-crabs, but why are they co-operating with PLANTS??? What on earth do they have in common (except that they fear adventurers that infest their living-place).

Besides that, its very well-made in any way possible... It just the boring parts that brings me down, just like it did when I played Pool of Radiance II (yes, I did played it, even becouse of the bugs, but I got tired of the endless repeating combats).

I will probably take it up again, but I cannot say that I wont cheat past some of the combats just becouse they are boring.

Awaited games would be:
Morrowind, Dungeon Siege, Neverwinter Nights, Duke Nukem 3d...

I enjoy games with a good story, but even better - Good characters. I hated Return to Castle Wolfenstein becouse the main character didnt say a single word during the entire game... And I loved No One Lives Forever/Undying since it was deep with both story and a real character to play with real characters you met).

I have only mentioned FPS'es above... Just to say, that it isnt about genrés for me, but adventuregames/rpg's are more likely to fit my expectations.

Btw, I almost cried when I saw the end sequence of Throne of Bhaal... I became a mortal and spent the rest of my life with my beloved Jaheira... (Throne of Bhaal was the game I took up after solving Gothic, and dropping Wizardry

Best Regards

If you want serious long term fun, go get Asherons Call.
I got Blades of Darkness, but its all hack and slash, very thin on plot (great Graphics)

Baldurs Gate II was good stuff too

Hey JemyM,
I played Monkey Island 4 a long time ago. Let me give you a hint. The right medicine to cure the disappointment is an old classic called Death Gate.

(I still believe the citizen avatar was taken from Death Gate).
