| Do I need to get a patch for Gothic before I get started |

If there is one, where do I get it (in English). |

You only need the patch if there is a problem with your graphics card. The patch is on GothicDot.

The English version of the game comes pre-patched, version 1.08j if I'm correct. You only need a patch if your having graphics problems with the new Radeons or the Geforce Cards (Don't hold me too that).

The patch isnīt needed, it only addresses startup problems.
What you should do to avoid some of Gothicīs bugs: Use more than one saveslot.
