how do you get through the valley of mines? where is it? also... how do you even cast spells? 
i select a spell and have it "ready" or whatever but i dont know how to finally cast it, any help would be great |

The valley of mines is in the southeast part of the map. South of bengar's farm
To cast a spell hold down the control key then push the up arrow and hold it down a couple of seconds until the spell goes off.

what im really wondering now is how to cancel a creature form and go back to normal form :p |

Sheesh, why all is done ins uch difficult way...
I don't know what controls you use, I use Gothic 2 ones. Really easy to do everything, incl. casting the spells: I open Inv and select the spell, usually it goes under the no. 4 (hotkey, weapon is 1, ranged weapon is 2, beats me what's 3). When I want to cast a spell, I just press no. 4 and spell is automatically ready. Then I just click the left mouse button and done, spell goes off. If I want to switch suddenly over to a weapon, I just click 1 or 2 to get one of them out and done.
And no weird and tricky key combinations.... |

Hotkey 3 is used to activate the last spell you had cast, much in the same way that other key (I assigned it to g) is used to equip your last active weapon. the Hotkeys 4-10 are used to fast select spells once they are equipped. |
