All this valuable stuff, but where to sell it? |
|
I have this master plan on getting a lot of my other skills up to high levels (preferably 100), and while I may never hit the mark, I want to get as close as possible. But I need cash to give to the Secret Masters so I can get my learn on.
That brings us to point B. An obvious solution is to just sell some of my $100,000+ items for money to pay the masters, but to no avail. I can't find anyone that has more than $1000 cash. Is there any trader out there, that has around $50,000 to spend on the grand items that I want to give em?!?! Or anyone for that matter, who wants to give me money!?!?!
Or, on the other hand, what would you do if you were in my shoes?

There are various traders who provide more resources; the highest I've found so far is a Scamp on the second floor of a manor in Caldera (right across from the trader's shop) that has 5000, renewed every day. He also give full price, and allows you to exercise your mercantile skills by upping prices. He only buys a limited range: armor, weapons, some spells and other items, but not alchemic ingredients or potions, etc.
I have in the past used him for some multi-day trading sessions to shed high value items. I will sell him a few medium value (2000 - 5000) items to build his stock up; rest for 24 hours; then sell a high value item while buying back the medium value items, to bring him under 5000; rest for 24 hours; then steadily resell the medium value items, until everything is gone. Trade, rest, trade, rest: you can build up a fair amount of value this way, even without adjusting the prices to make a profit.
Eventually, I got tired of this aspect of gameplay: since the economic model is so basic, it really doesn't allow for much of a profiteer mentality, and reduces pretty quickly to trading and waiting 24 hours. So I created a mod that upped the scamp's daily cash flow to 100000, and adjusted his buy list to permit him to buy everything. So now he does double duty: as a way to tranlate useless, but high value items to cash; and as a self-storage unit, where I make the profit off the storage time, not him.
Of course, you could play this without either the mod, or the gamey practice of resting 24 hours between trades; but it doesn't add much to the interest of the gameplay to me.
Hope this helps,
