The problem with gaining levels...

Just like in the old Ultimas, there's a problem with gaining levels - monsters in the land increase in difficulty. This isn't such a problem if you have a character who can keep up with it - but if you for instance, take speechcraft as a major ability, then stay in the first town pursuading people and bartering until you are level 10, when walking out of town, you are in for a VERY nasty surprise.

That means, for the most part, you either have to build up stealth skills along with non-combat skills, and somehow avoid monsters all the time, or you build up your fighting skills before you start on any other skill practice. When starting, magic is too expensive and slow to build, and hand-to-hand is far too innefective with monsters. In addition, there's a problem with using stealth - it's VERY slow, and there's many cases where you can't get past with stealth (though an invisibility power would help then).

Well, I think it is a good think. If you have speechcraft etc as major skill, you are obviously NOT a fighter, so you should find an other way around the beasty.

You dont see Gore/Bush beating the hell out off each other? They solve it with other skilss
