| JOINING MONASTERY & NOT RECIEVING NOVICE QUESTS???? |

I know somebody asked this before, but no problem was solved. Has anybody else had this problem. Also, i joined as a novice, before i snuck into see Lord Hagen...so that couldn't be the bug! Anyway, nobody at the monastery will give me quests...i have spoken to all of them...is there a walkaround...i've joined and cannot unjoin guild to join another!!!!
This really bites! help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In two separate plays I joined the Monastary and in each case I got tasks from the mages just fine after I gave the sheep to the shepard novice in the courtyard and the 1000 GP to Gorax. After that, things went along fine.
Did you arrive late at night (after Gorax went to sleep) or something like that?

Once you have given away your sheep and 1000 Gp it should work fine |

You mean you got to see Hagen before you joined a guild? that could be the problem, anyway you haven't been playing for a long time, you can always restart.

I think I remember reading somewhere where a fellow had a similar problem and while a novice was able to change to mercenary. Not sure about that. Never tried myself.

I went to see Hagen before joining a guild in this new round of play. I was able to get to Chapter 3 without a guild. The problem is you can't become a Mage in Chapter 3+ since Pedro is gone (and Milten has taken his place). Without Pedro to ask you if you have the 1000 gold and a sheep, there is no way to become a Novice/Mage. (Unless you cheat and just change the Guild field for your character through Marvin.)
You can still become a Paladin or Mercenary, though, and I went with Paladin on this round.
