Crash! Render Creation error "" HELP! |
|
PIII 800, 128MB, 32MB NVidia Riva TNT, no-cd patch.
Everything has been working fine since I patched it yesterday, and suddenly BAM!...It won't load.
I get an error box saying: Render Creation error ""
Any clues, folks?
(Cant get to Bethsoft...they really need to upgrade their servers ) _________________ Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.

Have you changed desktop res ? |
|
I get that error when I try and start it with my desktop in 16 bit color.
( I have another game which requires desktop to be in 16 color so it is kind of annoying ) |

Well the first thing you make want to check out is the TNT card, i had one that came with my computer and it caused all sort of crashes with games (mostly anthing that wanted DirectX 8.0) I upgraded to an ATI 8500le and haven't had it crash once _________________ Ater deus praevalo

Thanks, but somehow I need to get it to work on THIS pc. I won't be able to buy any upgrades in the foreseeable future.
I've spent most of today digging into the guts of my pc and trying every workaround I can come up with.
Thought I had it licked about an hour ago. Got into the game, (still have everything turned down, but at least it works) played for about 10 minutes, tried to save and BAM! Hello desktop.
Luckily, this is MY pc....not like when Daggerfall was crashing and my husband actually tossed the software in the trash.
If I find a config that works, I'll post it...otherwise, back to the trenches. _________________ Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.

I have the same problem with the page fault error. i however, have yet to get the game to start up once. i also can't access the options menu from the launcher or start up the tes construction set. i'm on a tnt2, 256mb ram, sb live with a 1.4ghz amd. i've tried various drivers but none seem to work. what drivers were you using when you played the first time? |

woo hoo!! i found something that fixed the page fault error!! if you go to start>run>dxdiag>display-tab you can check out the directx settings. just run the diagnostic tests that they have listed. it showed a prob with direct3d on my comp which magically disappeared when i disabled direct3d and then enabled it again. i am not sure how stable the game runs though... just thought i'd post this first. |
