| locked chest that needs the right key |

In the cave under the stone bridge just before you get to the tavern. There is a broken wagon outside. I think there were goblins in the cave originally. I am now playing it through for the second time and have realised that I never did manage to unlock the chest in there even though I had about 50 keys.
Is it possible to open it and how?

I think it's part of a magician's quest... I've played through twice as a paladin and am playing through currently as a dragon hunter, and I've never open the chest either. It is possible to open it. I'll await a more informative response...

You will get the key from Lutero when you bring him the claws of a very dangerous creature [claws of herdleader???].
In the chest is a runestone
