In the ending sequence we heard the hero saing that the barrier was not there any more.
How excactly have this hapened?
What did The Sleeper had to do with the barrier?

Xardas explains that the sleeper was the reason the barrier expanded beyond the mages control. The sleeper wanted this area sealed in for some reason. The sleepers power was sustaining the barrier despite any of the mages inside the camps attempts to lower it, and when the sleeper was banished to another dimension the barrier fell... cut off from its source of power.
