Auto Assault: Extended Play Test Next Week @ Official Site |
|
Acknowledging that their target demographic is ulikely to have a date on Valentine's Day, Auto Assault will be kicking off a two-day playtest session that evening. I'm always disappointed this time of year when businesses evoke the St. Valentine's Day Massacre to promote their wares. Unfortunately, Auto Assault chose just such a headline to announce the event. They didn't even try to lighten it up a little by calling it "the Valentine's Day Massa-CAR" or something. Oy.

Love is in the air... and so's the napalm. Forget the candy and flowers. Let's blow some sh-t up! Join us for an extended playtest session beginning Tuesday, February 14, at 6 pm Central and blazing through til 6 pm Central on Thursday, February 16.

That's a full 48 hours of post-apocalyptic destruction and mayhem we're calling the Valentine's Day Massacre.

This special event also marks the first phase of our priority beta access. Starting February 14, the mid-week playtest sessions will be accessible only to our pre-order account holders. Those with standard beta accounts will still be eligible to play during the weekend sessions (Saturdays 6 pm Central through Sunday 6 pm Central), including the special weekend beta events.

This is funny. This is true. 19 years ago, when I was 16, my best friend Tom and I could not get dates. We were D&D nerds so we turned to PC games. We played Wasteland and Sentinel Worlds I hours on end. Whn Tom turned 17, he started to get "cute" and girls found him. He stopped playing PC games with me. We are both married with kids now and we look back on it with nostalgia but it is funny to see some things never change. |
