Star Wars KotOR II: The Sith Lords - Feargus comments on rel

After the recent announcement that the Xbox version of KotOR2 would ship early in December while the PC version remained in February caused a storm of debate on many boards, Obsidian's Feargus Urquhart has commented on the company's boards:
There are actually a whole bunch of reasons why the dates have been set they way they have been, some of them have to do with LucasArts and some of them have to do with Obsidian. Microsoft even weighed in on the topic and let us know what they would like to see. What came out of all that was that the US Xbox version would come out in December and the PC and both International versions would come out in February.

Like a lot of people on the boards here, we are disappointed that we will not be shipping the PC version simultaneously. We are probably more disappointed actually, because of all the hard work we put into making it possible for that to happen.
That sounds like background politicking to me.

Looks like Obsidian Entertainment is already someone's bitch, which is a damn shame; they haven't even got a game out on the market yet, and they've already lost control of their own damn company.

Hey

MS is the publisher, it's their money, they can have the game out how they like. I think it sucks that they keep doing this crap for the Xbox can only even further disinclines me from ever buying one, but again they are the publisher.

I had no idea that MS was the publisher. Why is Obsidian publishing with MS?

LucasArts is actually the publisher but MS presumably has a level of control over all Xbox titles.
