Charm.

Telekinesis.

The only spells I can't figure out. Do they have any real use?

And do spells like charm, fear, and sleep work on monsters or just people?

Charm is pretty much what is sounds like, u "charm" a person, make them well like u...

and Telekinesis is the art of moving something with one's mind, for instance see that boulder over there? I'll move it thru telekinesis, meaning I'll move it with thought

Charm would be a great spell to use on 1 monster in a mob just before you attack them:
Charm will make a monster attack those around him, so while they are attacking him, you attack them!

Telekenesis is your f r i e n d.
Dont sell those spells when you find them, they are very useful later on...
