I've been following DS too, but from the look of those screen shots, its looks a lot like a 3d version of Baldur's Gate.
BG series was great, but having all of those people following you around usually ends up in bad AI getting stuck in corners or running off to fight monsters when you want them nearby or to fight another monster.
The graphics are amazing.
Morrowind still holds the #1 spot for me.

me too, Morrowind is gold but DS allows you to play with 1 or up to 8 characters, so it's still cool, it's all your choice, much like GOthic, you get to choose your way of life

Hmmm, the perspective is set so far back...
thats one of the things I really enjoyed about Gothic, the detail was incredible.
Do you know, (as Im sure most of you have) if you zoom in really close into the Gothic Chars, you can see the individual chain links in their chain mail, the gloss on the platemail, you can see the stitching on the rogues armor from the new camp!! You can see gray hairs in Diego's head, you can see a spot on Bloodwyn's head where he's going bald...Im talkin the kind of graphics that make you stop playing the game just to marvel at the detail! (Dont even get me into watching that chick scrub the floors, this is a family-oriented board). You can get that level of detail in a single-player controlled game. More players means you have to widen the view (which means lessening the detail) although that bridge screenshot is fu**in amazing! (looks like a painting more than graphics). Also when controlling 6-7 ,more players, something has to give to resources...either player interaction with NPCs, or the environment or something.
I hope Im totally wrong cause the game does look good, but until its on shelves, I'll be cheering Morrowind on

yeah it looks ok...but nothing like gothic..more like evil islands and baldurs gate, gothic is really third person ...

morrowind is expected to hit april/may
i heard....the only letdown are the newest screens of it on gamespot..it looks washed out and not as detailed and sharp like older screenshots

Yeah, DS looks like a 3d Baldur's Gate. Looks good though. But Morrowind is what I'm waiting on.

How about Call of Cthulu, anyone following it's development? Copy & paste this URL, apparently since the address has commas it won't be properly linked from here:

I'm a big Lovecraft fan so I probably will play it. Sounds like a definate hybrid game. RPG elements with FPS view.

Brak, that game is sooooooo freaky man, I love the vid of the monster busting thru the door, and the other with the character dragging some poor guy around

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it, but am thinking it will be short, sweet and spooky, kinda like Undying, but with more RPG type elements, which would be great, but I am just kind of tired of a game that is less than 15 or 20 hours long and takes place mostly indoors. Gothic set me free!
