I know the feeling, maybe we can pray to the sleeper to get the addon out sooner.

No. The 'if' and 'when' of the add-on are still a mystery.

Add on? When? Where? Just curious, why can't you get it in Australia?

The Night of the Raven. Supposed to have a bunch of new stuff but you have to start from scratch again, or so I've read. There's a link to the site from the gothic 2 german site. Besides that it's still in German

The add-on has been out for a while now - in the German speaking countries. It changes your game of GII significantly. When/if it will be published for English speaking countries is up to the potential publisher. The GII add-on site has been translated into English a long time ago, actually, but it will be put online only when it's safe to assume there will be an English language add-on shortly after.

Well, according to JoWooD the 'if' is definite. The 'when' , however, is up to Infogrames.

As far as I can tell, the Gothic series is a huge success. What do you think the hangups are with the publisher that they are so 'iffy' as to whether or not an English release of the add-on would be worthwhile?

Just curious if you have any insight on this. The way I see it, it seems like the add-on would be a no-brainer money maker.

That is because you are hanging around few hundred like-minded individuals.

This is in no way a proper indicator of the potential economic success of a piece of software.

My comment isn't based on just my experience on this message board.

well, yea this game does seem like a success but where i am in south florida they only had 2!!! G2 sent in at a EB and didnt know when they would get more so it took me a while to get it. I guess either they have money problems or not so many people play this.

i think they have some major distribution problems, i live in australia and i havent ever seen gothic 1 or 2 in any shops at all, i stumbled across gothic 1 when i did a box order of assorted games and thort it was the best game ever, ofcourse i had to get 2 straight after i finished so i went around to shops and couldnt find it anyway, after many searches i finally found an australian game site with gothic 2 and ordered it off there. Gothic is a 1 in million game and if distributed properly could bring out alot of money because im sure if people knew about it they would buy it.
