Rosi's quest and Sekob's immortality??? |
|
Okay folks, this is going to be hard to explain so read carefully!
- I started out in chapter 5. The first thing I did is escort the guy from the valley of mines to the farm where he currently stays. After that I went to the city and got some quests, then decided to do the quest where I have to kill all the leaders of the orcs. While wondering around, searching for more orcs to kill, I stumbled upon Rosi and her son drill or whatever his name is in the woods on the path. She asked me to escort her to the city, so I did. She is currently sitting on a log bench with her son next to her. After 7 or so hours later I traveled to the Sekob's farm area. I have two possibly seperate questions concerning the next few events that took place. First, when walking to Sekob's house I saw more orcs and the orcs slaughtered every single person on both the right and left side of the path. At least 4 of those people had names. Question: Was I supposed to save any of them from dying? I tried using speed potions over and over (about 8 times) and only manages to save 1 person at the most. Question: Should any of these people survive this event? Moving on... After killing off all the orcs there, I finally got to Sekob's home. When I walked up to him I am given two options of what to say to him. The options lead to either him attacking me, or him asking me to go get his wife, Rosi, and bring her back to the farm. Neither option seems to work. If I choose to go get her, I can go to the city where I took her and speak to her, but there is nothing I can say to make her come back. That is a dead end quest... On the other hand, if I choose to tell him I took her to the city and that she won't be coming back, I will get 150+ XP, but he attacks me and is immortal. I can't defend myself from him. He attacks me but I can't hurt him at all. Question: Is this a bug? Question: What am I supposed to do? Question: Was I supposed to talk to Sekob before meeting Rosi on the path? (If so, that is really stupid!)
Please respond quickly!!

You should have talked to Sekob and gotten the quest to find his wife, and one of the female farm hands next to Bronke will tell you where to find her. It makes no differance what you tell Sekob as I remember, after you find Rosi. She won't come back to him and you'll get attacked. Just run/lead him to whatever guild camp you are in and let him hit you once, then sit back and watch the fight
On the orc thing, you should have been able to save them all, at least I did, but I don't think it matters in the long run. _________________ Chris: Dad, what's the blow-hole for?

It is not possible to save them all. By the time you get there - even with speed potions, half of them are dead. Even if you were to perfectly target each orc one by one and only hit them once to take the agro off them and make the orc focus on you, you'd still only be able to save 1 or 2 people at the most. If you saved them all you must be thinking of something else... I'm serious - by the time your able to see the orcs, some of the farmers are already dead.
So then, is that a confirmation that I needed to talk to Sekob before finding Rosi in the woods? Or does it matter? Is Sekob supposed to be immortal? I'm not interested in watching a big fight, I am interested in finnishing this quest... I've been waiting for a response to this thread for hours now, so that I can get back on and play the game. If there is some special way to save those people, give me instructions... Tell me whether or not Sekob is supposed to be immortal. Is it really a bug? Does he play any role in any quests in the future? I need more info before I feel comfortable adding another few hours under my belt. I hate having to reload because I did something wrong on previous saves... _________________ I am the founder and former leader of a guild in EQ, retired member of The Code in EQ, original member of KOE in AOE2, past Corporal of EVO in MOHAA, respected veteran of UT 2003, a conquerer of all decent games, and an aspiring game developer.

I can only assume that we entered the orc battle from different points, abilities etc. I'm in no way saying that saving them all is the norm, but it happened that way for me. I saw the battle, cast a fire spell and all the orcs came after me with the others chasing them. The orcs were dispatched in short order.
Sekob being immortal might be an oversight, but not really a bug, but it's a fact. Escaping is easy and I simply gave you an alternative to end his harrassment.
Rosi ain't going back to him, at least in all the scenarios I tried. So I don't think you have messed anything up at all. Once you take Rosi wherever, you complete the quest, or at least you get bigtime exp. I think it's more of a twosided quest tho, and you'll only complete one side of it. I'll be interested to find out differently. _________________ Chris: Dad, what's the blow-hole for?

Sir Diety,
I tried over and over again to try and save Sekob's people from the Orcs, but I just couldn't. As soon as I came into view, they were busy slaughtering everybody.
Its OK cause none of the slain farmhands will affect your game, but I felt bad just letting it go like that... _________________ All shall hear the words of Karras...the words of Karras |

I couldn't save more than one or two people on the farm. Sekob's being immortal is a bug. Just lead him somewhere where others will kill him, or teleport out of the area after getting your experience. |

Someone give Ruskie a promotion, that was a perfect response.
I was level 38, 135STR, 105DEX, 411Health... etc... and I could only save 1 or two farmers also. It must be because I didn't use an AOE (area of effect) spell. _________________ I am the founder and former leader of a guild in EQ, retired member of The Code in EQ, original member of KOE in AOE2, past Corporal of EVO in MOHAA, respected veteran of UT 2003, a conquerer of all decent games, and an aspiring game developer.
