I want to know your opinion on two things.
Best RPG of IT'S time.
Best RPG of ALL time.
Well the best RPG of it's time would have to be Final Fantasy. Simply because it was one of the first, and back then, it was all you could ask for in an RPG. Plus more. I still enjoy Final Fantasy to this day. Truly a masterpiece.
I was just recently introduced to the greatest RPG of all time. Gothic. _________________ His thoughts are whack.

Fallout.
No more needs to be said.
Gothic is definately the runner up though. I hope Gothic 2 is even better.
Moved to General CRPG. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Haven't tried too much RPGs, but:
The best of it's time: Wizardry
The best of all time: Gothic _________________ =Farseer=

Do you go right? Or do you go left? A simple decision, yes? No ambiguities. Only the dream of the path not taken! And so one might stand in this place and contemplate for a long while. What will I miss if I go left? What will I lose if I go right? And in my indecision, have I chosen a worse fate? |

Best RPG of it's time:
Baldur's gate II, with Lands of Lore and getting my nostalgy vote
Ultima 7: Serpent Isle gets the second place
Best RPG of all time:
This one is tough, but I guess that the first place will be divided between Morrowind and Fallout 1&2, with Deus Ex in the second place
Although Deus Ex is not necessarily a "true" RPG, it was the first that succesfully mixed a FPS and a RPG together and even had a nice plot. |

Let's see... best CRPG of it's time... probably Ultima 7... it's still not a bad game by any means. Fallout 1 & 2 are easily the runner up.
Best CRPG of all time (to date): Planescape: Torment... for storyline and medium combat they don't make 'em like that anymore. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

Morrowind is out of this one as it’s still too new.
Best of it’s time:
Everything Bioware/BIS have done from Fallout to Throne of Bhall.
Best of all time:
It’s between the BG or Fallout series. Fallout gets it this time for being one of the only great RPG’s in a non-fantasy setting. |
