Missing the Key to Level 4

Hello,
I am new to this forum, so please excuse if this is a repeat problem.
I cannot get "Carlo" to give me the key to the portcullis to level 4. (Crypts)

Supposedly, from the walkthrough, I am to talk to Carlos after I make contact with the Lady who wants the Sheild of Poxsellis. When I walk up to Carlos and point to him with my arrow it says "A Man" not "Carlos". He tells me that he has no new news. I became frustrated and found a way to get Krohas and Zohark anyway. I have detroyed the meteor but still cannot get into the Crypts.
Please Help

Carlos and Key

First question is did you install the patch? This is very buggy game, esp. at points like this. Second question. Did you go into the castle after that and talk to king and all those guys. That is where you would have been sent on the quest from is by king and his advisor. I think you should still be o.k. even though you have jumped over the scene that sent you to get the rings and destroy the meteror. I hope you have save game just in case. Try going and seeing king and let me know what happens.

Latest patch is installed.
The king now says "Go make the ultimate weapon" etc.

I did get the scene that tells me to get the rings.
I got the first one, and could not get the key for the second (Lev 4 Crypt)
So I went back to the bandits and "took" it. (Zohark)

Do I have the right guy?
Carlo is the graying fighter who often says "No AmShegar no new news" Right?

Thanks for all the help

Yeh that is him. Try leaving that section and going back to it and talk to king again. Then talk to Carlos again. Did you destroy the meteror already in the temple? There is one other question. Did the Rebel leader ask you to get the shield for her? You may be able to go back to her and get that quest even though you already have the rings, and that will trigger Carlos giving you the key. Try that first. It may just be clich because you went out of order a little. Did you save Shanny? Did you talk to snake lady in castle and then get cut scene where she shows you how to open the teleporter gates?

OFFICAL ANSWER TO MY PROBLEM:
I AM STUPID!

I read some other posts and found that trying the keyring on the portcullis does not work as it does with doors.
I found the keyhole last night and got right in.

Sorry to bother you with this, but I tried forever to get through that stupid gate!

Thanks for all the help.
