| getting goodies from NPCs |

Most characters come with a weapon which you can't take from them. I recruited & immediately dismissed Tantris, the T'rang Samurai and when he left, he gave me his valuable samurai armor, whcih I will sell to get some nice spell books.
Does this work with every NPC? |

Does this work with every NPC?
Yes. For instance, Vi will let you take her polearm and armor but not her stun gun (darn it!). 
I've never been above recruiting characters, stripping them naked then dumping them.  |

Hey, everybody, you can get the Personal Items:
Recruit the RPC. Take the PI, Right-click the PI onto a character's portrait. Give the RPC an item from the party inventory, and take it back. Drop the PI to the ground. Dismiss the RPC. The PI will be spinning around at your feet. I discovered this playing around to get the Sax, which my Bards all love me for. Someone else posted this here, i found out later, before i did, so if you use the Search you can find the original thread about this, back in early '01, i think... |

Otter, you devil you! I'll have to try it, since I'm about to start my umpteenth new party. It never occurred to me to try it that way. |
