Alchemy questions

I've been picking an abundance of alchemy ingredients along the trails and paths which I have a lot of fun doing .
But my question is does this stuff grow back or can you only pick from each plant once during the game??
How long does it take to grow back, if it grows back?

What are the ingredients for a heal potion, mana potion?? I'm trying not to steal so I'm having trouble with money and want to make my own potions.

Does every ingredient in the game restore fatigue??? LOL

Can I use the potions with 'bad' effects against enemies? If so I haven't figured out how to do it yet and would like to know why these potions are so common if I can't do anything with them??

The CS says that plants are "organic" (whatever that means) and "respawn." So, I'm assuming things will grow back. Never tested that. But, more than 50% of the plants seem to not have stuff in them. On purpose. The other half have random amounts. No idea how long it would take stuff to grow back though.

You can find alchemy books for simple recipes. As your alchemy skill increases more and more of the ingredient effects will become apparent to you (as in turn into descriptions instead of ?). You make potions by combining ingredients with same effects. So, if you combine crab meat and bread, you get potion of fatigue restoration.

I used example of fatigue cause I could remember ingredients. I know stoneflowers (the blue Iris lookalike) has restore health as first effect and daedra hearts have restore magicka (those I know because I ate daedra hearts plenty of times to restore magicka and stoneflowers come in handy when running through countryside and you don't want to waste your spells/scrolls/potions of restore health). In case you didn't know and didn't realize yet, eating ingredients will actually apply the first thing on the effect list to you (if your alchemy is high enough, I believe).

Bad effect potions are useless, AFAIK. All potions are self only. If I'm missing something here, someone please correct me.

You can also find what ingredients make something with other ingredients if you're willing to go through a slow and painstaking process of trial and error. I did this before my alchemy skill was high enough to see any but the first two effects of any ingredient.

Equip your alchemy equipment to bring up the alchemy window. Pick one ingredient. Put it in the first slot. Then pick any other ingredient and see if something shows up in the effects column. If nothing shows up, those two ingredients don't make anything together.

Click on that new ingredient to make it disappear from the slot, and choose another one. Go through your whole inventory, comparing each ingredient with your first one. Chances are, you'll find some things that work, even if you can't see that effect in either ingredient.

Then choose a new first ingredient and go through the process again, combining it one by one with everything else you've got.

It's like a poor man's alchemy school.

Lisje,

You can buy a whole set of grandmaster equipment from...

[Spoiler alert. Readers beware.]

(Scroll down)

From the Grandmistress herself, Abelle Chriditte, in the Propylon Chamber at Velenvaryon.

Correcting something in the previous spoiler message.

In other words, this might be a spoiler, too, so read at your own risk.

Valenvaryon, not Velenvaryon.

Why buy when all 4 master tools are ungarded and free for the taking int the tower at the Mages Guild in Caldera.

just realised you need grandmaster... not master... oh well.
