Each to his own, but eGenesis should be applauded for daring to be different in a genre of look alikes. We need more developers who are really prepared to be creative. |

Couldnt they be creative and have conflict in the game at the same time? Im all for innovation, but as far as i can tell, this is a crafting game and thats it.
EDIT -- i might be wrong about that. |

Be "creative" by adding conflict?? Sorry, but... come on! Every single other game has a conflict of some kind in them, how creative would it be to have it there too? I think ATitD is very creative on its own because it has no conflict, and no combat. There is, as far as I know, competition in the game, and that's all that matters. It doesn't appeal to the combat-oriented player, and that was very intentional on the developer's part, I believe. And why not, for once! _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

Oups!! Sorry Ammon, I misread you... You were wondering if they could be creative *and* still put a conflict of some kind in the game.
But my comment still stays valid: why even implement a conflict when all other games already have one. It would be kind of counter-creative, and would defeat the purpose of the game, in my opinion. I don't play the game because, personally, it just doesn't tickle my fancy. But I'll defend this game regardless because it is a breath of fresh air in this genre, just the way it is. To make it a little more like everything else would not be a good thing.
Sorry again for the misunderstanding though _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

Just because there's no combat doesn't mean there's no conflict
There is even a test where you can be given the opportunity to ban 7 people from the game. Quite interesting. And, if you're into crafting like so many people, this is definitely a game for you! |

I think it's good for a game to play to it's strengths and not try to tack on features half baked. From what I hear there's definetely conflict and competition, it just doesn't involve combat. Trying to do too much at once often means you fail at everything. I think that's a problem I had with SWG which does in fact seem like a crafting game that just had combat tacked on. |
