I always get compassion. I am too goodie-goodie for my own good. |

I seem to always end up choosing between Spirituality and Honor. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Man, I would love to be a paladin, druid, or ranger. I HATE bards, in every single game that is out. I usually just cheat on the test to get a good class. Furthermore, has anyone noticed that a mage is severly underpowered in the Ultimas. I played them all but only remember a few. But in VII there was a problem with magic so magic didn't even work most of the time. And in IX you couldn't use the really good spells until you purged the shrines. I do like the binding idea though. |

So? Mages are usually terribly over-powered in every other game. Besides, with the spell Mass Kill in Ultima 6, I don't think my mages were feeling very under-powered. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Mages in most games are only really over-powered when you get to the end game. But I tend to have sadistic tendencies so I love vaporizing the beings that try to stand up to me. But, as I said, I love the Ultima mages more then most games because of the spell book and reagents idea. That is how mages would be in real life I think. You know, if mages...did exist. *Creepy Dum-dum-dum* |

True, in actual pen and paper DnD, mages need their spellbooks and reagents to perform complex spells. But most people nowadays want everything now, now, right now. They probably consider resting to re-memorize spells a pain.
With computer games it's a fine line that designers have to walk. Make things too hard and people whine. Make it too easy and other people whine. They have to find the happy medium that'll get them a decent return on their game so they can hopefully get paid and can make a new one. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

People still whine no matter how perfect a game is. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!
