Lionheart patch #1 is out |
|
I understand that this game is not very popular, but for those who are interested - here it is
http://lionheart.blackisle.com/patch1-1.html
The main thing this patch does is to add a slider that can slow down the game a bit (from 100% to 70%). And it also fixes few bugs with crashing on saves.
I just installed it and it works fine. In fact call me a retard but while waiting for ToEE I decided to give Lionheart a try. And, to be honest, after some 12 hours of play I'm not entirely disappointed This game could be played, really. It's much better IMO than, say Pool of Radiance, or Dungeon Siege for that matter. OK, enough BSing. Back to my speed slider _________________ - Druids do not fight with metal weapons! Sit here, and you over here. Put the elbows of your right arms on the table...

You're not the only one, stanthony (hey - maybe it's got something to do with the fact that we both like IWD?). I've been playing it while waiting for ToEE and they really missed the opportunity to make something outstanding but I'm still having fun. |

I like the game too. Since I haven't played IWD, I can't say if I like that, though .
The game that Lionheart most reminds me about is Nox (which I liked and completed with all three classes). Lionheart has better story and more consequence of your actions, though, which is what moves it from an action game to an action RPG.
Lionheart is definitly an Action RPG. I am not sure where exactly the line between a "normal" RPG and an Action RPG is, but it is somewhere between Torment and Lionheart. Maybe it is the number of combat encounters between "talk" encounters, or maybe it is the pace.
So, all in all, the balance between combat/action and talk suits me fine. I am not the least bit disappointed. If anything, I am positively surpriced by how few bugs there are, and how well it plays.
