I ran into this same problem with the Catalyst 3.0 drivers on an All In Wonder Radeon 8500. I dropped back to the 2.5 drivers, and don't seem to have the same problems, although, it does seem to want to change resolution settings an unusual number of times, judging by the sounds the monitor makes. It is better with the old drivers, I guess, but I'd really rather have the newest drivers, not that I've had much luck with anything from ATI.

Hey...I had that problem on the demo... It was resolved by going into the config file and putting a 1 instead of a zero where it said ati=0. Im not sure about this for the real game. When I got the normal game it worked fined for me. Try looking what it says in the config file though. Its a text file in you arx fatalis directory. Check it out. Maybe the 3.0s reset that value.
