The Saga of Ryzom: Anniversary Free Month FOr Registered Pla

Rysom's Jessica Mulligan has posted up a "Letter To The Players" in which she passes along all the latest Ryzom news - to include the first anniversary free month of gameplay for registered players...

PARIS, FRANCE – August 22nd, 2005 – Nevrax, the developer and publisher of the online role-playing game The Saga of Ryzom, announced today that, in celebration of Ryzom’s first anniversary in September, current players will be awarded a free month of game play.

According to the publisher, any player with an active, paying account as of 11:59 p.m. on Monday, August 29th, will have a free month added to that account on August 30, 2005. Those accounts will have their monthly billing date pushed back 30 days.

"Ryzom’s success is based purely on our loyal player base,” noted David Cohen Corval, Nevrax’s founder and CEO. “When we started talking about anniversary rewards, we wanted to do something big to reward those loyal players, something no other game has ever done.”

"We were just going to add the free month without a time delay,” Corval continued, “but we wanted to give players a chance to notify their guild mates or friends who might be taking a break or on holiday.”

Isn't it funny and ironic, people are so masochist

Why is it so, that companies who treat their players like crap (lack of communication, weak acknowledgment of players concerns and suggestions) have the most costumers (SOE, Blizzard, etc) and the ones that treat players extremely well, with a lot of communication, care, respect and nice gifts, etc have so few... like Nevrax.

Oh wait, this is actually logical, from a "business point of view" SOE and Blizzard, a hundred more or a hundred less won't matter much to them !
