What to do when lag just pops out of nowhere |
|
Yep yep yep
This is the never edning topic so why should I stop it
The no-cd hack works great and I can now run around in the res I want, distance and everything. The problem I get is that every now and then The fps goes from like 30 or so down to like 5 and I can't do anything about it. I try going into a building and coming back out and sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't. The only thing I can do to fix it is change the resolution to less and then when the fps goes up I change back to where I was and go back to work...I know everbody else is getting this so what little technique are you all using? |

After several days of enjoying my new ATi Radeon 8500 128MB DDR , I've seen something similar. I can only conclude that it is a memory leak since rebooting my system after 5+ hours of play erradicates the problem. _________________ Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.

My problem happens after like only 1 or so of playing and I have a pretty nice system, even for a laptop. I will just conclude that this game is too memory demanding and I will just have to deal with it. |

I've the same problem and i found out that if i increase or decrease the view distance a little bit and then turn it back to my previous setting the lag is gone. I don't know why but it works for me. |

pretty sure its the massive swapfile Morrowmind creates. I find when it gets bad enough that even exiting and running my memory tweak tool doesn't help my system. Everything moves in slow motion and thrashes the disk until I reboot.
So... I save. And when the lag becomes annoying instead of noticeable I reboot. Take the opportunity while rebooting to do such things as use the washroom, kiss my wife and assure her I'm still alive, eat or drink... _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

When the lag hits, you would think that I would get up and kiss the wife, but then I say "that is 2 minutes I can be playing Morrowind" It is bad enough that I have to quit playing to eat, sleep and go to work.
I have tried many other things to get this "out of nowhere lag" to go away but changing the resolution seems to be the only way for me since if I had to reboot every time this happens, I will be pretty freakin pissed. It okay though. |
