Runes and Scrolls

I think I have runes, they look like stones but they don't seem to work. I am in the militia. I have about 4 teleport runes. I just get a blue light but don't go anywhere. Also how do I use scrolls? I stand in front of the alchemy bench and all I can do is get my flask it turns green and that all. HELP!

First if you joined the militia you cant use runes only of you join firemages second to use a scroll activate it first in your inventory if you done that use number 3 on your keybord to activate the spell in your hand cast it by pressing the action command key

You can use the teleport runes in chapter 3 in militia. Did you assign a number to the rune so when you get ready to use it you are selecting that rune? Also some of the first ones have to be used inside the VoM section only. Not outside the loading part of VoM.
